Understanding Customized Dentures
Dentures are constructed for each individual person in order to match the fit, tooth and gum color of that individual's mouth. Our dentist offers either full or partial dentures, depending on the condition of your oral health and where your missing teeth are located. Full dentures will be shaped rather like a horseshoe and will be fitted at the gum line. Sets for the upper row of teeth will have a connector to cover the roof of the mouth, while sets for the lower teeth will not have a support in order to make room for the tongue.
Partial dentures, on the other hand, will be constructed only to fill spaces where teeth are missing, rather than replacing an entire row of teeth. In order to hold the partial denture in place, there will be a metal framework to help the dentures fit comfortably in the mouth without slipping.
